The application period for the 2013 Taiwan & ICDF scholarship programs is on and will be open until February 28th 2013. These two scholarship programs provide golden opportunities to young talented St. Lucians to study in Taiwan for Bachelor, Master or PhD degrees. Currently, there are about 60 St. Lucian students studying in Taiwan.
Those interested in applying for the Taiwan Scholarship are asked to visit the Embassy’s website: www.taiwanembassy.org/LC/mp.asp?mp=367 to complete the application forms and deliver them with a copy of highest education certificate and transcript authenticated by the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour or relevant authorities, two reference letters, and a Police Record to the Embassy at Rodney Bay.
The awardees of the Taiwan Scholarship will be provided with single trip air ticket to Taiwan and NT$25,000 living allowance (about US$850 which can cover the cost of housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance and textbooks) per month.
Those applying for the “ICDF scholarship” should fill in the following two application forms,
(1) The university application form (which can be downloaded from the websites of the Universities).
(2) The ICDF Scholarship application form (please go to the website: http://www.icdf.org.tw/TSP/welcome.aspx ).
The recipients of the ICDF Scholarship will be provided with single trip air ticket to Taiwan and a monthly living allowance, which can cover the cost of housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, and textbooks in Taiwan.
Both the Taiwan and the ICDF Scholarship programs will commence on 1st September 2013. Scholarship awardees who fail to arrive in Taiwan before the commencement day, will have their scholarship status cancelled.
Government officials who are interested in applying for the scholarship programs, should first get the appropriate approval from the Training Division of the Ministry of the Public Service before sending scholarship applications to the Embassy.
